The decision to hold your wedding ceremony and reception in the same venue is becoming increasingly popular. It’s a personal decision and obviously depends on a number of factors.
Here’s what some past brides and grooms have said to Denise our Wedding Coordinator
Having the ceremony and reception on one site means your guests don’t need to travel and you won’t lose anyone stopping for a sneaky beverage enroute!
If guests are travelling it means they have extra time to get to the venue
If guests are staying over they can relax
A lot of décor and DIY items can be easily moved and reused from the ceremony to the wedding reception. If you’ve gone to the time and trouble of DIY items you’ll want to reuse them!
Generally the ceremony time is later so you’ll have a more relaxed morning getting ready
If planning your wedding from abroad this is an idea option as your wedding coordinator is an invaluable help.

The Radisson Sligo is a beautiful setting for your wedding ceremony with a variety of options catering from small intimate ceremonies to larger celebrations.
When contemplating a Civil Ceremony or Civil Partnership you’ll need to consider a few things. You can only get married Monday to Friday with Friday being the most popular day! This is an opportunity to avail of special wedding packages in Sligo such as our Midweek Wedding Package or the fabulous Fire & Ice Winter Wedding Package
You’ll need to apply at least 3 months prior to your wedding date to the Registrar of Marriages in the area you live to notify your intention to marry. This needs to happen regardless of what ceremony option you decide on. They will be able to provide you with any information you’ll need.
For your Sligo Wedding Ceremony you’ll need to contact the local Sligo office
Sligo Civil Registration Service, Community Care Office, Markievicz House, Sligo
Your Humanist Wedding Ceremony
Humanist weddings and partnership ceremonies provide the opportunity to personalise your wedding with readings and music. A humanist ceremony is not a legal ceremony. It can take place straight after a Civil Ceremony or at any stage. If you have your heart set on a weekend wedding you could have your Civil Ceremony or Civil Partnership in advance and then enjoy a Humanist Ceremony or Wedding Blessing after.
